BASE FOR MAKEUP

Makeup or base makeup or other beauty products are used almost in every nook and corner of the world but it is hard to determine whom these things suit well – to the already pretty ones to sharpen it more, to the people with average appearance to make them beautiful or to the uglier ones to make themselves appear well. BASE FOR MAKEUP

Base or primer is a spadework for the makeup. This preparatory task is done before foundation or tinted serum to get the skin ready for the makeup, to smoothen the texture, reduce the size of the pores and give glow to the complexion. The process is aimed at leveling the surface of the skin to give artistic touches to the appearance with the makeup. A liquid base should be a preferred choice because it is easy to blend, it hydrates the skin and is long lasting.

• CONCEALER

The whole workout of base, foundation and makeup is likely to go into drain if dark circles under eyes and blemishes on the face continue to give a bold look. A goodly use of concealer in an artful way can address this issue as a good concealer if applied upside down in pyramid shape can bring desired results. Concealer should be used in contour with the skin and foundation tones. The concealer with orange tone would be the best choice in case of dark circles under eyes because this concealer will neutralize the colour. The concealer should never be lighter than the skin colour because right concealer gives natural look and brightens the face complexion. While applying the concealer, the ring finger should be used for smooth and even texture as it softens the skin and helps in melting and blending the concealer. • FOUNDATION

Foundation is the last leg in process of applying the base on the skin. It can either be a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer as it varies from the primer. Sponge and foundation brush are normally used to apply the foundation however, foundation brush is advisable as it gives a smooth, even and flawless application. The choice of foundation colour in commensurate with the complexion is very significant and th e jawline tone should be the criterion. The foundation should be applied sparingly and judiciously keeping in view the fact that skin tone is required to be changed not to wear a mask like thing. Yellowish colour for foundation is considered ideal in case of dark circles under the eyes. The foundation colour should be opted making a match with the chest.

• FOUNDATION STICK

The quick fix of the base is done through the foundation stick and it also helps in bringing natural look to the face tone and complexion. The foundation stick is also useful in evenly spreading the foundation on the face. Use the stick as a giant marker and make thick lines down the cheekbones, on the nose sides, and on forehead above the eyebrows and blend them well. For bronzy effects, darker and lighter foundations if blended well can give the desired results.

POWDER

Powder or compact foundation is a process to dust the powder on the face. It can be done with the help of makeup brushes which come with the makeup and can separately be purchased. The brush should be used horizontally and powder should be applied on the face surface by padding the powder with brush.  

• FINISHING

Base makeup takes final touches with the expert application of the powder because it helps in setting the foundation and gives accomplishment to the overall appearance. A large powder brush should be used for loose powder to set the foundation. If the powder is used skillfully, the foundation will stay longer. The translucent power proves to be better to control shine and provide matte finish to the face. It gives a stable look to the makeup. The oily portion of the face must be dusted with powder well particularly the T-zone.

• BRONZE OR BLUSH

After getting the base makeup, it is necessary to apply blush or bronzer to give high tone to the cheekbones. In order to get even tone of the face, the blended bronzer should be used with a brush. Before applying the blusher, a little smile is beneficial. The blusher should be applied on the apple of the cheek and blended towards the top of the ear and then brushed to the jawline. It should be blended so expertly that it should not give a stark look. 

• CONTOUR

Contour is a technic used by the movie artistes to change the shape of the face. The first of contour is the strong base applied on the face. As a first step of contouring, the cheeks should be sopped up by sweeping bronzing powder on the hollows of the cheekbones and applying cream highlighter above the bronzer. It should be blended well with foundation stick from the temple to the hairline and from both sides of the nose to the brow. 

As a bottom line, the above procedure for providing base to the makeup is the preliminary work to establish the makeup which is, of course, short lived having life no more than a few hours. It appears that it is much ado about nothing or at least about something. However, makeup or beauty industry is huge one involving billions of dollars and employing millions of people across the globe. It is not wrong to say that billions are spent and toiling of the millions of people are put together to give a bright glow to the face.
