WATER
Water is life and is the most effective remedy for many of the skin-related issues. First of all, adequate quantity of water should be consumed as a routine. It is better to start daily routine by having a glass of lukewarm water. If some lemon juice and some honey is added to the glass of lukewarm water, it becomes miraculous and have many far-reaching effects on overall health in general and on skin in particular. In addition to it, face should be washed well four to five times a day with simple water including two times with a gentle soap particularly in the morning and before going to bed. It will wash extra oil from the skin, keep the skin hydrated and prevents other skin disorders like acne, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and others.
LEMON JUICE
Lemon juice has many skin-friendly properties as its application promptly brightens the complexion giving the skin shine and glow. The citric acid in it acts as astringent which helps in construction of skin cells and others part of the body and also helps in maintaining the tone of the skin and excessive oil. The lemon juice should be strained well before use. It is advisable to make a mixture of one table spoon of lemon juice and half table spoon of distilled water then it should be dabbed gently on the face with cotton. It should be allowed to stay on the face for ten minutes and then should be washed with lukewarm water.
HONEY
Honey has miraculous properties and is considered a wonder remedy as far as skin disorders are concerned. It has antifungal and antibacterial properties which are highly potent treatment of acne and its scars. It keeps the skin hydrated, reduces excess oil, clears pores and moisturizes the skin. It also helps in treating rashes, itching and redness. Honey should be applied directly on face in raw form to treat excess oil on the skin and should be let stay on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes and then should be washed with lukewarm water.
APPLE CEDAR VINEGAR (ACV)
Apart from many other benefits, apple cedar vinegar (ACV) has the property which keeps the oily skin moisturized and maintains its tone. The ACV is antibacterial that essentially fights breakouts which is caused by excess oil buildup. It is necessary to choose organic ACV with ‘mother’. It should be diluted in water before use as raw ACV may cause itching, irritation or any other minor issue. It is advisable to take one table spoon of ACV and mix it in two table spoons of water and should be applied on the face and be allowed to sit there for five to six minutes and then should be washed with normal water.
CUCUMBER
Cucumber is rich in minerals and vitamins and has the property of containing the oil buildups on the skin. It should be consumed and applied as both have excellent benefits. For top use, cucumber should be cut in slices, rubbed the slice gently on the skin and left on the skin for the night. It should be washed with normal water in the morning.
BANANA
Banana is full of nutrients such as vitamins A, B, E and potassium which is highly beneficial in moisturizing the skin with no addition of excess of oil and grease. It should be applied on the face by mashing it and mixing it with honey. After ten to fifteen minutes, the mixture should be washed with lukewarm water.
- Banana scrub: Banana scrub is also very useful for oily skin. The mashed banana should be mixed with two table spoons of honey and three table spoons of oat flour. Banana scrub is ready to use and should be applied gently on the face and afterwards, face should be washed with lukewarm water.
YOGURT
The dairy products such as milk, yogurt and others possess lactic acid which is excellent for keeping the skin moisturized and absorbing the excess of oil on the skin. Plain yogurt should be applied on the skin after proper beating and should be allowed to stay on skin for 15 minutes and then should be washed with normal water.
ALOE VERA GEL
Aloe vera is the trusted friend of skin as it has many beneficial properties to treat many of the skin-related issues. It gives excellent results in case of sun burns and its antimicrobial property helps in fighting breakouts, acne, pimples and others and moreover, it absorbs excess oil on the skin and keeps the skin moisturized. The aloe vera gel should be taken directly from the plant which can be developed in a plant pot at home. A thin layer of aloe vera gel should be applied on the face and for better results, it should be left as it is throughout the night and should be washed with lukewarm water in the morning.
